MOSSY CREEK/PIONEER BOWL BLOOD DRIVE TO TAKE PLACE THIS WEEK

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Fans of the Tusculum Pioneers and Carson-Newman Eagles can support their team while aiding East Tennessee Medic Regional Blood Center by participating in the third annual Mossy Creek/Pioneer Bowl Blood Drive this week.

The event is part of the festivities leading up to the October 15th football game between the Pioneers and Eagles that kicks off at 1:30 p.m. from Pioneer Field in Greeneville. There will be several opportunities for fans to donate blood.

On Monday, October 10, Carson-Newman fans can donate at the Maddox Student Activities Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pioneer fans can donate at the Morristown and Knoxville campuses of Tusculum College from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12. On Thursday, October 14, blood can be donated at Wal-Mart on East Andrew Johnson Highway from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Medic will also be at the Wal-Mart in Jefferson City from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13.

The final day of donating blood will be on Friday, October 14 on Tusculum's main campus in Greeneville from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The winning school will be announced at halftime of the Oct. 15 football game. Tusculum won the inaugural Mossy Creek/Pioneer Blood Bowl in 2003, while Carson-Newman captured last year's title.

The Mossy Creek/Pioneer Bowl Blood Drive is sponsored by Radio Greeneville, Inc., Medic Regional Blood Center, Choice Corporate Training, the Greeneville Sun, WMXK-Radio 94.1 FM and the Standard Banner.
