Colorado Classic tickets now on sale by Chris Day9/26/2007
PUEBLO, Colo.- Tickets for the second annual Colorado Classic at Dutch Clark Stadium are now on sale at several venues. The football game between Adams State College and Western State College will be held on Saturday, October 27. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. but is just a part of the festivities for Grizzly fans throughout the day.
The ASC Alumni Association will host a pre-game pep rally at Showtime Sports Bar, starting at 3:30 p.m. The event is highlighted by a team send-off at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 when purchased in advance or $10 at the door.
Showtime is located at 1007 West Sixth Street in Pueblo.
Game tickets are $6. Children 5 and under will be admitted free and do not need a ticket.
The Grizzly Club will also hold a post-game social at Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 5821 North Elizabeth St. at the north end of Pueblo, immediately after the game. Tickets for that event are $5 although Grizzly Club members are free.
ASC's official hotel is the Best Western-Pueblo North, located at 4308 Saint Andrews Drive. A special rate of $75 has been arranged. To make reservations, fans should call the hotel directly at (719) 543-4644 and ask for the Adams State-Colorado Classic rate.
Tickets for the game can be purchased through the ASC Athletic Office in Plachy Hall on a cash or check basis only. They can also be purchased in person or over the phone via credit card through the ASC Alumni Office in Richardson Hall. That office can be reached at 800-824-6494 x. 8110.
The Alumni Office is also selling tickets for the pre-game social and can combine orders with game tickets. Tickets for the Grizzly Club post-game social can be purchased only at Plachy Hall, again on a cash or check basis only.
Those in the Pueblo area can purchase game tickets at any of the five Little Caesar's locations in Pueblo and Pueblo West.
The Grizzlies defeated the Mountaineers by a 28-10 score in last year's inaugural Colorado Classic, witnessed by around 7,500 fans. With the victory, ASC earned the right to hold the Colorado Classic traveling trophy, sponsored by Town & Country Auto Mall, which has locations in both Alamosa and Gunnison. That trophy includes engraved scores of all 60 games in the long-running series between the rivals.
