Adjustments made to 2004 Football Schedule
ALCORN STATE, Ms. The Alcorn State University Athletic Department officially released the adjusted 2004 football schedule, which features 11 games and two classics.

Alcorn State will host North Carolina A&T, Alabama State, Texas Southern and Southern Universities at Jack Spinks Stadium. The Braves will visit Grambling, Prairie View, Mississippi Valley State, and Alabama A&M Universities. Finally, the Braves will compete in two classics. Replacing the Arkansas Pine Bluff game, which was originally schedule to take place preceding the Jackson State contest, is the 1st Annual Prince Georges Classic in Washington, D.C., where the Braves will take on hosting Howard University at FedEx Stadium. The 2004 regular season campaign will conclude with the 11th Annual Capital City Classic versus Jackson State, where Alcorn will act as the home team.

In September, the Braves will look to avenge last years tough home loss to the Tigers of Grambling State at Grambling in the season opener. As a result of the proposed Chicago Classic falling through as a result of conflict of a Chicago Bears home contest that weekend, Alcorn instead will host the Aggies of North Carolina A&T on Sept. 11. The Braves will then hop on a plane for the nations capital to take on Howard University, before returning home for a meeting with Alabama State.

Following a week off, Alcorn returns to action at Prairie View before returning back to the Academic Resort for Homecoming against Texas Southern University. The Braves will then look to make it three in a row over Southern before heading to visit the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana University.

The final month of the season will be a true test as Alcorn travels to Mississippi Valley State, Alabama A&M and Jackson State.

Alcorn (7-5, 5-2) should be projected to finish near the top of the Eastern division standings as the Braves finished in a two-way tie for first with Alabama State last year. After getting off to a sub-par start, the Braves finished the 2003 campaign with a five-game win streak.
