Press release courtesy Newberry College

Newberry, S.C.----Newberry College director of athletics Andy Carter announced today the rescheduling of the Wingate University football game from October 22 to Thursday, October 20 at 7 p.m. The change was made to permit a live Time Warner Cable telecast in the Columbia and Charlotte markets and a Comcast broadcast in Charleston. This marks the first Thursday game since the Indians faced the Presbyterian College Blue Hose on Thanksgiving in 1992.

Carter has designated the event as Newberry County School District Night. Students in the county will be admitted free of charge, as well as employees of the school district, with valid identification. Children under 15 will be admitted at no charge if accompanied by a parent or proper adult supervision. More details will be distributed throughout the Newberry County Schools.

In addition, city and county law enforcement will be admitted free of charge by showing badges or ID. General admission tickets are on sale for $10 each, discounted from the normal $15 ticket price.

Reserved tickets in sections C and D will continue to sell for $15 apiece. Tickets that are already printed with the October 22 date will be honored.
