High School Football Standouts from Pennsylvania and Ohio will meet on July 23 at Hersheypark Stadium
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Six high school seniors who have signed National Letters of Intent to play for schools in the Atlantic 10 Football Conference have been selected to play in the prestigious PNC Big 33 Football All-Star Game, to be held on Saturday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Hershey, PA.
The 48th annual PNC Big 33 Football Classic, which will be played at Hersheypark Stadium, matches the top players from Pennsylvania and Ohio. The mission of the Big 33 is to showcase and develop excellence in students and the community while raising funds for academic scholarships and other charitable activities. Since 1985, over $2.4 million in Academic Scholarships have been awarded.
The players include Richmond signees David Horton (WR/DB) and Jordan Mitchell (WR/DB), Vince Bazzone (OL/DT) of Hofstra, Maine’s Jake Serdy (OL/DT) and Villanova signee Osayi Osunde (DE) will line up for the Pennsylvania team. St. Ignatius offensive lineman Mike Sheridan, who will enroll at Villanova, will play for Ohio. Ohio State boasts the most selections with nine, followed by Pittsburgh (six) and Cincinnati (five).
Described as the "Super Bowl of High School Football," Big 33 alumni include Tony Dorsett, Dan Marino and Joe Montana, as well as current NFL standouts Kerry Collins, Marvin Harrison and Orlando Pace. At least one player from the Big 33 has appeared in every Super Bowl contest.
