WCU's Wendell Singletary Signs Free Agent Deal With NFL's Titans

Singletary Is the Third Catamount To Get NFL Chance This Year

Cullowheee, N.C. - Two days after two Catamounts (Lamont Reid and Kevin McAlmont) became NFL free agents, it was announced by the Tennessee Titans that Western Carolina offensive lineman Wendell Singletary (Whiteville, N.C.) has also signed as an undrafted free agent. Singletary will join teammate Reid in the Titans camp, while McAlmont is in the Washington Redskins camp.

Singletary (6-6, 300) started all nine games for the Catamounts at right tackle this past season. He was named the team's offensive lineman MVP for the Elon game. In that contest, WCU tailback Darius Fudge rushed for 99 yards on 14 carries (7.1 yards per carry), while Reid averaged 7.0 yards per carry (63 yards on nine carries). For the season, Singletary helped pave the way for All-SoCon pick Fudge, while the Catamount offense ranked third in the league in passing.
