Celebration planned for Olivet College’s first night football game in more than 40 years

The Olivet College football team will open its 2005 season Saturday, Sept. 10 with a “Comets come out at night” celebration. Olivet hosts Franklin (Ind.) Admission to the game is free and the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free commemorative T-shirt. A tailgate-style dinner and family-friendly activities will be available from 5-7 p.m. Dinner is $6 per person; children under 8-years-old eat free. The 2005 Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized at halftime. The celebration will conclude with a post-game fireworks show.

The Comets are under the direction of first-year Head Coach Dominic Livedoti. Olivet ended the 2004 season with an 8-2 overall record and tied for second-place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association with a 5-2 mark.
